You can invest any amount over$1000 and lock your money in for a time period betewwn one month and five years. Special negotiated rates may be available for investments from $100,000 and over.
However, as the interest rate on the Fixed Term Deposit is fixed there is a risk that market interest rates can increase to a rate above the fixed interest rate on your Fixed Term Deposit in which case the amount of interest you receive on your deposit may be less than what you may be able to receive on an at call investment. There is a risk that this type of account may not suit your particular objectives, financial situation or needs.
The interest AER is 5.50% - 7.25% p.a and the interest gross is 5.50% - 7.25% p.a.
Your first $1 million in deposits is guaranteed by the Australian Government.
